The more we know about you the better
We start the web design process by getting to know you. This "discovery phase" allows us to understand your needs and objectives. We will ask you a quite of lot of questions, but this is so we can make sure the final product you get is what you wanted. Just as an example, some of the questions we ask might be about colours, other websites you like the look of, what you want to get from the website.
In addition to this, we will speak to you about YOUR BUSINESS. What you do, what you offer, the services you provide, the areas you cover. Basically the more we know and understand you and your business, the better the website will be to reflect your business online.
Costs can vary widely depending on what you need
It's a bit like asking someone how long is a piece of string. Costs can vary widely according to what a specific client might require. For example a standard brochure type website (a website that explains what you do, about your business, what services are offered etc) will cost less than a complex e-commerce store. It might be that you want certain design features, or additional functionality such as a client area or login system.
Our pay monthly options are favoured by 90% of our customers
You do not need to pay the total cost of creating your website in one lump sum. We have different options available where you can spread these costs across affordable monthly payments. Here is an explanation of how this might work:
If you are hosting your website with us -
90% of our clients will host their websites with us. In this case, we can offer a lower initial deposit payment and then set you up on one of our Pay Monthly Plans where you pay a monthly fee. This fee will cover your continued website design costs, the maintenance of the website, hosting, and domain name.
If you are hosting your website with another provider -
We will design and build the website on one of our "staging platforms". In this case we will charge a larger initial deposit, and then agreed payments whilst the site is being completed. Once the site is completed, we will check it with you, and if it is all good, then you pay the balance and we help move the website to your hosting provider.
About 3 to 6 weeks
A typical standard website might take between 3 to 6 weeks to build it, but this depends heavily on project complexity and how quickly you provide feedback and content (copy, images, etc). However, 123 Simples have produced websites and got them online within a week to 10 days. We then work on them "live" as we find this is the best and most productive way of getting your business online fast.
Managed website solutions from 123 Simples
The majority of websites 123 Simples create are custom built and designed, therefore if clients need updates, they get in touch with us, and we then make the needed changes very promptly. There are huge advantages to us looking after your website, and it is extremely affordable to let someone else deal with this for you.
We do not use Wordpress or web builder software
Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, are often "sold as the easy answer" to customers using other web design companies. Our competitors will tell you it's really easy to update, and change your own website as and when you want.
What web design companies neglect to tell you is Wordpress is a steep learning curve for most people. Furthermore, Wordpress will rely on themes and plugins to make a website appear online, therefore relies on constant update requirements to make sure vulnerabilities in WordPress plugins and themes are constantly being patched.
We do not use website builder software - for example Wix, 1&1 WebSite Builder, Squarespace or Shopify.
Every website we design is a bespoke creation
Generally you do not automatically own your website. Every website we design is a bespoke creation specifically geared for you and your business. You own the content you have supplied (the text you supply, images you provided) but the code and design is always owned by us. However...
If you decide to transfer your website to another provider 123 Simples will do everything they can to help you. The potential issues might be if the coding we built will run on another server platform. Additionally the contact forms, or certain "PHP or ASP scripts" we specifically used in creating your website, may not function on another web hosting server.
Responsive website design is the norm
Every website we create is done under the banner of responsive web design. We used to call them "mobile friendly websites" but today the design strategy gives you one website that appears correctly on multiple devices and screen sizes.
Because of responsive web design your site will look different on different devices, but ultimately the content, the images, the look and feel of the website is consistent.
Basic copywriting included
Yes we can write the content for your website. This is included in our pricing, and this is why we need to get to know you and your business really well.
Most people come to us to take care of their website, and that includes all the copy and content. This is known as a "Content Writing Service" and whilst other web designers will then charge you extra, this is part of our package for you. However, we do have specific copywriters we work with, and if needed, then we will discuss these options with you.

Behind the scenes, we work hard to ensure your website is always the best it can be. We check in on all the websites we manage from time to time, making sure everything is working as it should be. We assist with any content changes you require, offer assistance or guidance if you get stuck.
