Here are some SEO Tips for people building their own websites:
1. Optimize your Meta Tags - Make sure you label each page with a unique title and description. Meta tags are normally found in your <head> section near the top of your code view page. A good title tag is worth a lot, so make sure that the title tag actually relates to the page content. For example <title>Search Engine Optimization Techniques - 123 Simples</title> Having a good description on your meta tags can entice people to click on your link in Google search 2. Optimize the URL's - URL structure is still very much a factor of SEO, so be sure to set them up properly. Use a few descriptive keywords in your URLs, but avoid URLs that are too long. Use hyphens to separate keywords, and avoid underscores and symbols if at all possible Example: http://www.123simples.com/articles/ecommerce/adding-google-checkout-to-website.asp 3. Add valuable content to your pages - Content is king, so make sure that each web page on your website has useful information pertaining to that link 4. Speed - Nobody wants to make a cup of tea whilst your webpage is loading, so make sure that pages are optimized for loading times, and graphics and images are not so big that it takes all day whilst a page loads on the browser screen |
